A: A Master Plan is a document that provides a vision for the future growth of a City. The Glen Cove Master Plan will provide a framework for land-use and zoning decisions as well as for broader reaching objectives for transportation, housing, office, recreation, urban design, and public amenities. Lastly, the Master Plan is a consensus building tool, bringing together the development goals of the public, city officials and key stakeholders.

Additionally, a revamped zoning ordinance will allow Glen Cove to take advantage of a range of innovative zoning tools to deal with emerging land use and design issues.

A: The Master Plan is being prepared by the City of Glen Cove, elected officials, the task force, residents, and a consultant team which includes Phillips Preiss Shapiro Associates (PPSA) and Stuart Turner and Associates (STA). Through an open planning process, the public is ensured significant input into the preparation of the Master Plan.
